Frequently Asked
about Arka

  • What does my Arka module include?

Dwellings include completed bathroom, kitchen and lighting. Should you purchase a Lunar module, power, waste and water become self-sufficient as well. Earthworks, consenting, transportation and install are excluded.

  • Is it code compliant?

Code compliance certificates are provided with each build. The Arka team can also offer support with resource and building consents (where required).

  • Can I customise my Arka?

At Arka, we offer both turn-key packages and customised builds. Interiors can be specified to preferences, while our extensive range of accessories provide additional decking, roofing as well as choosing a fold-up bed.

  • Can I join several modules?

Yes, this is what we call Arka Villa. By joining 2-3 modules, New Zealanders can create larger spaces. Individual buildings can also form a collective. Get in touch to discuss your specific requirements and we can recommend a bespoke solution.

  • Can I choose my interior?

Absolutely. Each Arka is available in three levels of finish:
    - Simple (cost effective with design integrity)
    - Everyday (similar to those seen in a new Kiwi home)
    - Premium (carefully curated materials from some of Aotearoa, New Zealand's best)

  • Who is responsible for the design?

Arka modules are designed by Wingate Architects and Structural Engineers Structure Group.

  • How has sustainability been considered in the overall design?

At Arka, we believe that low-footprint, clutter-free living is not only more environmentally and economically rewarding, but equally good for the soul. Under the design, minimal piles are required - reducing the impact on the earth. Local, sustainability-minded materials are used across each build with minimal construction wastage. The Arka range is also homestar rated.

  • Can I install Arka on a slope?

Yes, Arka modules are designed to sit on Aotearoa New Zealand’s many terrains. Arka’s design team can assess the landscape at the outset of the project - and we use a mixture of foundation solutions to suit most sites.

  • Can I live off the grid?

Arka innovative Lunar module enables off-grid living. Adding a Lunar to your Arka provides solar power, water, waste and storage.

  • How difficult is delivery?

The delivery process is designed to be transport friendly, complying with transport agency regulations for single-pilot truck delivery. Details of this will be discussed in planning phase.

  • Who is responsible for construction?

Arka Construction are behind the build of Arka modules. This experienced team of specialists work closely with the Architects, Salespeople and Project Manager's throughout the delivery process.
